🎉 We have exciting news to share!
The McDuffie History Project is now officially recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
What began as a commitment to preserve and share the stories of McDuffie County has now reached an important milestone. Our nonprofit status will help MHP continue building a lasting historical and genealogical resource for our community—one that documents our people, families, cemeteries, communities, records, and shared history.
This recognition also means that contributions to the McDuffie History Project are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
There is still a great deal of work ahead, but today we are taking a moment to celebrate how far this project has come. Thank you to everyone who has encouraged the work, shared information, contributed family history, or simply followed along.
All of McDuffie County’s stories share history and mystery—and now MHP has an official nonprofit foundation from which to preserve them. 🎉
