This website is dedicated to preserving and sharing the people, places, records, and stories that shaped our corner of Georgia. Through census records, cemeteries, newspapers, maps, court documents, family histories, and local research, we seek to document both the region’s known history and its unanswered mysteries.
A special focus of this project is the recovery of lives that have often been overlooked or forgotten, including enslaved individuals and families whose stories are scattered across slave schedules, estate records, property transactions, church records, and newspapers. By connecting these fragments, we hope to help descendants, researchers, and historians better understand the communities that existed before and after emancipation.
